Mid-Century Platinum and Diamond Earrings

8,200.00 12,000.00

Platinum and diamond clip/stud earrings, late Art Deco, dating from approx. 1950, featuring 60 baguette cut diamonds and 80 brilliant cut diamonds (all diamonds approx. 6.20 carat total weight).

The earrings are entirely made from platinum (tested in our atelier as platinum 950) and breathtaking examples of authentic post-war late Art Deco.

The 60 baguette cut diamonds (30 on each earring) have a total weight of approx. 4.0 carat. The 80 round brilliant cut diamonds (40 on each earring) have a total weight of approx. 2.20 carat. Total weight of all diamonds is approx. 6.20 carat. All diamonds, tested for authenticity, are of very good color and clarity.

Excellent condition – only very light wear consistent with age.

Size of each earring is approx. 7 cm / 2.75 in (length) and 1.5 cm / 0.60 in (width), weight is 18 g each.

An impressively sized, dazzling pair of earrings, authentic pieces of jewelry history, and the perfect companions for festive evening attire.

The cleverly made clip/stud combination makes wearing these earrings very comfortable, despite their substantial size and weight.

If interested in this style of post-war late Art Deco, you will find reference pieces of very similar earrings in: David Bennet / Daniela Mascetti: Understanding Jewellery, Woodbridge 2003, page 371.
